Our class has been fortunate to be able to welcome Alastair McFarland from SUNI to our classroom over the last few weeks. He has been helping the children with the transition to post-primary school through the ‘It’s Your Move’ programme.
The children have really enjoyed sessions on the choices, challenges and changes they will be facing. They have learned that it is okay to say no, that it is important to be themselves and that everyone experiences changes in their lives.
We would also like to thank Ballinamallard Methodist Church, who very kindly purchased books for the children from the programme. These books offer fantastic advice and support for the children as they move to their new schools.
