Yr 5 Fire Safety Talk
Today Stephen from Irvinestown Fire station visited Year 5 and taught us all about Fire Safety. We learned all about the dangers of matches, overloading plugs, candles, cooking and how to keep safe. We learned the safety measures we should have in place which included:-
-have smoke alarms and make sure you check them weekly
-have a fire escape plan - know what to do and where to go if there was a fire
-have a bedtime routine - turn off plugs, close doors, tidy floors and stairs
We also were reminded about the importance of Water safety, Farm safety, Road safety, Internet Safety and Firework Safety.
All the children got a Fire Safety Pack to take home full of information and some fun activities. Thank you to Stephen.
